Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 12, 2026
This page explains what cookies Tooliva uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They are widely used to make websites work properly, improve user experience, and provide information to website owners.
Cookies We Use
Tooliva uses a very small number of cookies. Here is a complete list:
Essential Cookies
- Theme preference. When you switch between dark and light mode, we store your choice in your browser's local storage. This is not technically a cookie — it is a browser feature called localStorage — but it serves a similar purpose. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to any server.
Analytics Cookies
- Google Analytics (_ga, _gid). If we have Google Analytics enabled, these cookies help us understand how many people visit Tooliva and which pages are most popular. Google Analytics does not personally identify you. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Plausible Analytics. If we use Plausible instead of Google Analytics, no cookies are set at all. Plausible is a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies or collect personal data.
Third-Party Cookies
Tooliva does not use any advertising cookies, social media cookies, or remarketing cookies. We do not sell cookie data to advertisers or third parties.
Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies (and localStorage) for exactly two reasons:
- To remember your theme preference so you do not have to set it every time you visit.
- To understand how many people use Tooliva, which helps us decide which tools to improve or add next.
Managing Cookies
You have full control over cookies. Here is how to manage them in popular browsers:
- Chrome. Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and Other Site Data.
- Firefox. Go to Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari. Go to Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
- Edge. Go to Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions.
You can also clear your browser's local storage at any time, which will reset your theme preference.
Do Not Track
Tooliva respects the Do Not Track (DNT) browser setting. If DNT is enabled, we will not load analytics cookies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this cookie policy when our cookie usage changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
